Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the Desktop Remote application (the "Application") for desktop computers and mobile devices, created by NTWIND LLC ("NTWIND", "we", "us", or "Service Provider").

1. Information We Collect and Use

Desktop Remote is designed for viewing and recording PC and Mac screens from a phone or tablet over the local network, with optional mouse and keyboard control. The Application does not require an account, does not use advertising, does not use tracking SDKs, and does not operate a cloud service for screen viewing, recording, remote input, or capture storage.

Local Use

When you use the Application, settings and operational data are stored locally on your devices. We do not receive, store, or access this local-only data unless you choose to send it to us, for example in a support request.

Depending on your device, settings, permissions, and the features you use, the Application may access, generate, store, or exchange the following information locally or between your own paired devices:

We use this information to discover nearby devices, pair trusted devices, establish an encrypted live preview, perform authorized screen capture and optional input actions, transfer and verify captures, display Records, manage local files, and troubleshoot connection problems.

Screen, Input, and Media Access

On Mac and Windows, the Application captures one selected monitor during an authorized screen session, subject to operating-system permissions. Screenshots and recordings are created on that sharing computer. It visibly indicates active viewing, control, and recording and can end the session locally. Android and iOS act as controllers and Records stores; they do not share their own screens or install a desktop capture or native input bridge.

Viewing, screenshots, recording, monitor selection, pointer control, and keyboard control have separate permissions stored only on the sharing computer. These permissions are not published in device discovery or pairing advertisements or mirrored as remote device preferences. Mouse and keyboard permissions default off, and authorized input is sent only when the corresponding live control is enabled. The Application does not listen to the sharing computer's physical keyboard or retain remote input logs. Text visible on the selected monitor may appear in the preview, screenshots, or recordings.

macOS screen capture and input are also governed by operating-system authorization. Windows may block input to elevated applications and secure screens. The mobile apps do not request camera or microphone access.

Completed captures are stored locally in the Application's Records area on the receiving device. If you enable keeping local copies on the capture computer, a copy may also remain there. The Application accesses your photo library, gallery, selected folders, system share interface, or drag-and-drop destination only when needed for an action you request, subject to operating-system behavior and permissions.

Support Requests

If you contact us for support, you may choose to provide your email address, diagnostic details, screenshots, logs, device information, sample media, or other information in your message. Do not send private captures unless they are necessary and you are authorized to share them. We use support information to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, improve the Application, protect against abuse, and maintain support and business records.

2. Local Network Communication

Desktop Remote communicates between your paired devices over your local network or Wi-Fi. Pairing must be approved before a controller becomes trusted. Certificate-pinned HTTPS protects pairing, signaling, screen and session commands, state, and checksummed file transfer. Encrypted peer-to-peer transport protects the live screen preview and authenticated mouse and keyboard input channel.

The Application uses local host connectivity only and does not provide a public STUN/TURN service, internet relay, public screen link, or cloud recording endpoint. Both devices must be directly reachable on the same compatible local network.

Because Desktop Remote is a local-network application, your router, operating system, firewall, VPN, internet service provider, or network administrator may process network traffic according to their own settings and policies.

3. Third-Party Services

The Application does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information.

The Application may be distributed through third-party app stores and platforms. Those providers may process information according to their own privacy policies:

If you choose to save or share a capture, your operating system and the destination app, gallery, storage provider, messaging service, social network, or other service you select may process that file according to its own privacy policy. If you visit NTWIND websites, download updates, or contact support, your browser, email provider, hosting provider, anti-spam provider, or other infrastructure providers may process standard technical information needed to provide those services.

4. Data Sharing

We do not automatically receive your live screen, screenshots, recordings, monitor list, mouse or keyboard input, device list, pairing data, local permissions, local IP addresses, Records library, capture commands, or network logs.

Your captured media is sent only between the paired devices involved in the capture, retained locally according to your settings, or sent to a destination you explicitly choose through Save, Share, or drag-and-drop functionality.

We share information only as needed to provide and protect the Application, respond to support requests, operate our websites and communications, comply with law or legal process, prevent abuse or security incidents, or enforce our rights. We do not share your local Desktop Remote data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Local-only data remains on your device until you delete Records, remove paired devices, clear or reset settings where available, clear Application data, remove saved copies, or uninstall the Application. Incomplete or failed temporary capture and transfer data may be retained locally for a limited period so an operation can finish or be retried, then removed by the Application.

Deleting a completed Record removes the Application-owned media and poster files on that device. It does not delete copies you previously saved, shared, dragged to another location, or kept on another paired device. Removing a paired device deletes that device's local pairing record on the device where you remove it; the other device may keep its own local record until it is removed there as well.

Uninstalling the Application removes local app data according to your operating system's uninstall behavior. Files previously exported outside the Application may remain in their destination.

Support emails and related correspondence are retained as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request, maintain support records, protect against abuse, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.

6. Security

Desktop Remote is built for trusted local networks and authorized screen use. Devices must be paired before remote access is allowed. Permissions to view, take screenshots, record, choose a monitor, control the pointer, or control the keyboard stay on the sharing computer. You should pair only devices you own and trust, grant only needed permissions, keep screen-use indicators visible, update your devices and operating systems, and use the Application only on networks you trust.

Held remote input is released on focus loss, monitor changes, disconnection, permission revocation, or session end. Operating systems may prevent capture or input on protected screens. The Application does not bypass those protections.

No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, especially on networks, devices, displays, storage locations, destination apps, or operating systems outside our control.

7. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Do not use the Application to view or record children without appropriate authorization and consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] so we can take appropriate action.

8. International Processing

If you contact us, visit our website, download updates, or use platform services, information related to those activities may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate. By using the Application, you understand that such information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, subject to applicable law.

9. Your Choices

You may use Desktop Remote without an account. On the sharing computer, you may manage paired devices and separately allow or deny screen viewing, screenshots, recording, monitor selection, pointer control, and keyboard control. You may view and record with input controls turned off. You may stop a session or recording, remove paired devices, delete Records, disable keeping local capture copies, block the Application in your firewall, revoke operating-system screen-capture, input, or local-network access, close the Application, or uninstall it.

You may choose not to save or share captures outside the Application and may choose not to send diagnostic details, logs, screenshots, or media to us when contacting support, but that may limit our ability to troubleshoot your issue.

10. Responsible Screen Use

You are responsible for obtaining any authorization or consent required before viewing, controlling, capturing, recording, saving, or sharing screen content, including applications, documents, personal information, and third-party material. Desktop Remote is designed for visible, attended use and is not intended for covert monitoring or unattended control.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Privacy Policy on this page and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Application after the updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.
