WinSnap FAQ

Q: Is WinSnap freeware or shareware?
A: WinSnap v2.0 is a shareware program, and you must purchase a license if you wish to continue using it after a 30-day evaluation period. However WinSnap v1.1 is still completely free for personal, educational and non-commercial use.
Q: What are the limitations of the trial version?
A: You can evaluate WinSnap v2.0 during a trial period of 30 days after the installation without any cost or obligation. This allows you to try all features of WinSnap before you purchase it. Please note that a watermark is added to all saved screenshots in the unregistered version. You may also try version 1.1 which is free for personal use.
Q: Can I use WinSnap on my laptop?
A: Yes, the personal license allows you to use WinSnap on all your computers.
Q: How do I make a screenshot of WMP with pull-down menus? As soon as I press the ALT key all menus close.
A: To do this you should change the Application hotkey. Open Settings, Hotkeys tab, Application hotkey, and set it to any combination without the ALT key. You must then minimize WinSnap, open WMP and menu and hit this key combination. An alternative way is to change the option "Delay before taking snapshot" (General tab). To do this, you must select the Application mode, click "New Snapshot", switch to WMP, open menu and wait... This is not currently such a useful method, but a more configurable timer is planned for the future. (See example)
Q: How to capture a video frame from WMP, Winamp, RealPlayer, etc.
A: Please read the corresponding forum topic.
Q: Can WinSnap start minimized in the tray?
A: Yes, you should use /m command line switch.
Q: Is it possible to change the default capture mode?
A: You can select the default capture mode in the settings (General tab) or use the following command line switches:
    /desktop or /1
    /application or /2
    /window or /3
    /menu or /4
    /object or /5
